Qualifying examination for specialist doctors (Facharzt/Fachärztin)

Allergy and clinical immunology

The association organizes the examination and sets the examination objective, the examination format and the evaluation criteria under consideration of the specific characteristics of the discipline.

The qualifying examination for specialist doctors (Facharzt/Fachärztin) in allergy and clinical immunology has 2 parts, an oral examination which is held at different university clinics in turn,  and a written MC examination, the "EAACI Knowledge Examination", which is held every year during the EAACI Congress.

In accordance with Article 23 of the Regulation on postgraduate training WBO (in German) only doctors holding a Swiss medical degree (eidgenössisches Arztdiplom) or a foreign medical degree recognised by the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health FOPH as equivalent may take the specialist examination. The transition provisions are set out in Art. 69 paragraph 3 of the WBO.
