On the basis of the training programme and the decision of the Central Board of the FMH of 3 February 1999, all candidates who complete their training after 31 December 2000 must pass the specialist examination in order to obtain the title of specialist in allergology and clinical immunology.

From 1 January 2010, only doctors with a federal or EU-recognised medical diploma are admitted to the specialist examination (Art. 23 WBO). The transitional provisions are set out in Art. 69 Para. 3 of the WBO.

The EAACI exam is exceptionally conducted by an SGAI exam with the same specifications.
