Swiss Young Immunologists Society (SYIS)

The Swiss Young Immunologists Society (SYIS) is a partner of the SSAI and aims to build a network of young immunologists in Switzerland to represent their interests and increase our visibility at the national and European level in collaboration with yEFIS. When you register as a member of the SSAI, you will automatically become a member of SYIS if you meet the following criteria:

  • You are an early-career researcher (<10 years after PhD/MD/MSc/BSc).
  • You are working on an immunology-related research topic.
  • You have a connection to Switzerland (as part of the Swiss academic system and/or as a Swiss citizen).

Termination of Membership

According to our statutes membership can be terminated as follows:

Each member may resign at the end of the calendar year by submitting a written notice to the President (by email to office@ssai.ch or by mail to SSAI, Scheibenstrasse 20, 3014 Bern).

Furthermore, membership is terminated by:

1. Death
2. Non-payment of the annual fee after two written reminders
3. Expulsion

Expulsion is decided by the General Assembly upon proposal of the Board. The member concerned must be heard by the Board beforehand. The decision requires a two-thirds majority of the votes cast and may be made without stating reasons.
