Based on the postgraduate training program and the decision of the FMH Central Board from February 3, 1999, passing the specialist examination is a requirement for all candidates who complete their training after December 31, 2000, in order to obtain the specialist title in Allergy and Clinical Immunology.

As of January 1, 2010, only physicians with a federal or EU-recognized medical degree are eligible for the specialist examination (Art. 23 WBO). The transitional provisions are outlined in Art. 69 para. 3 of the WBO.

The EAACI examination will exceptionally be conducted through an SSAI examination with the same requirements.
